The turning point: Discovering Klaviyo
I set up Klaviyo shortly after (yep, DIY'ed it!), started emailing my list, and suddenly, I had a sales channel I could predict. I could send an email at 7 PM and have £1K in orders before the hour was up.
I was packing orders in the middle of the night to get them all shipped before the school run. I remember filling my coffee flask and walking a mile to my studio in the middle of the night, bleary-eyed but determined. At that point, I could pack 100 pom-pom kits with my eyes closed.
What felt like magic at the time was actually me unknowingly testing and refining email marketing strategies—strategies that I would later use to help other creative founders do the same.
From business owner to email strategist
That’s when my obsession with Klaviyo and email marketing really started.
It wasn’t long before I was the go-to person in small business Facebook groups for Klaviyo support. I was already helping friends set up their Klaviyo accounts and audit their emails. What felt intuitive to me seemed to really trip others up.
So I made the leap into full-time consulting.
