What to email your list in September for product businesses
You’ve run your Bank Holiday flash sale. You’ve sorted your Labor Day sales too, if you’re selling in the US.
Next week it's back to school which means... Q4 is fast approaching!
When it comes to planning your email campaigns for September, you want to:
✅ Keep building trust
✅ Re-engage lapsed customers and subscribers
✅ Collect info about your customers through quizzes/forms/surveys
✅ Have fun!
So here are 4 ideas (that's one a week) to use this month:
Day in the life →
Show your subscribers what a day in the life of the founder looks like. What do you spend your day doing? This is a fun spin on a behind-the-scenes… make it quirky and fun! Share your office playlist, favourite snacks and subtly promote your products if you spend your day making/creating.
Us vs. Them →
I’m not that keen on pointing out competitors BUT I think you could spin this into a “Shop small” versus “Shop big” type post. What’s the shop small difference, why shop with you, how do you go the extra mile? And I know that you do, small businesses are obsessed with customer experience and the small details.
Collect birthdays →
Do you have a Birthday flow? If so, create a segment for all subscribers who haven’t given you their birthday yet and ask them to do it. This email always BOOST click rate and is unintentionally great for sales.
Back in stock →
Re-stocking bestsellers after summer? Tell your subscribers about it.
When it comes to planning email campaigns for your Shopify business, it's a lot more time-effective to map out an entire quarter of emails in one go, instead of winging it week by week or just sending a campaign when you have time. We are heading into Q4, which means you won’t have as much time as you’d like to get your emails written, let alone planned.
Want to learn how I plan campaigns with clients? My 90 Days of Email Masterclass will teach you exactly how I map out an entire quarter's worth of campaigns for my clients, in an hour. Get the training, and start sending like a pro.
