Improve your email pop ups to get more subscribers
Improving how your sign-up forms and Klaviyo pop ups perform can really change your email marketing game, no matter how big or small your subscriber list is. Even a tiny 1% improvement can mean big gains in getting more people to sign up and stay engaged, which can lead to more sales and keep customers around longer.
Think about it: if you're getting 30 new subscribers a month now, a 1% boost could mean adding 3 more people to your email list who might end up back on your site.
If you're gaining 100 new subscribers monthly, that's 10 extra potential customers.
And for those seeing 700 new subscribers, that's a whopping 70 more potential customers – all from just making your sign-up forms work a bit better.
While it's tempting to focus on things like segment performance and email flows (which we can totally dive into during an audit), tweaking your sign-up forms and pop ups can deliver immediate results for your email marketing.
Here’s how to improve your pop ups:
#1. Use different types of forms:
Place sign-up forms in different spots on your website to catch visitors at different points of their journey. Make sure you have an embed form in your footer and a fly out form when someone is about to exit your site. These are all default forms in Klaviyo that you can personalise and customise for your brand.
#2. Tap into high-traffic pages:
Add sign-up prompts on pages with lots of visitors, like sales or outlet pages, to catch their attention. This is one of the easiest ways to grow your list fast, by the way! High your sale collection behind a full page pop up in Klaviyo and use copy like “Sign up to access our SALE”. Have a well-performing blog post? Put that info behind an email form, or make sure you use embed forms on these popular pages.
#3. Test different designs:
Experiment with colours, images, and layouts to see what makes more people want to sign up. On desktop, I like to use a side image, but on mobile, I don’t use any images at all. A/B test which images you use and experiment with a vertical form on mobile. Try different button colours too.
#4. Play with words:
Try out different hooks (that’s the phrase that catches the shopper’s attention), button text, and offers to see which ones get the most clicks and sign-ups. If you want the move the needle on your sign up form performance, test different offers (10% off, free shipping, £10 off when you sign up).
If you’re not sure where to start or want expert help on making your sign-up forms work better, think about booking a Klaviyo audit.
