Black Friday prep for small businesses: July
This is the first of many Black Friday blog posts. November may seem ages away, but it's time to start thinking about it now so that you're not putting your emails together on a whim 2 days before.
I'll be hopping in with bonus tips to get you ready for Q4 and specifically Black Friday / Cyber Monday... which I'll shorten to BFCM to save my fingers from typing it out all the time.
Why start so early?
Because October is super busy and often it's too late to improve things like your flows and deliverability and grow your list by the time Q4 arrives.
What to do in July:
❑ Audit your account (I can help with that, there are 2 slots up for grabs for August)
❑ Review your deliverability: Head to Klaviyo > Analytics > Deliverability to see your current score and tips on how to improve it. Take action if you need to.
❑ Review your offers: what promotions have you run in the last 12 months? Which were the most successful? Make a list, and check the numbers.
❑ Start to put ideas together about which offers you'd like to run during Black Friday and Q4. Nothing's set in stone yet, just jot down some ideas on promotions and offers.
❑ Review your flows: particularly Welcome, Abandoned cart, Abandoned checkout and Browse Abandon, Post Purchase and Win back (we do this in the audits). When was the last time you reviewed these and updated them? 👀
❑ Start brainstorming visuals for Black Friday... what's your vibe going to be?
